01 Daily care

Intensive Cream Anti-Ageing.

Rich, long-term protection against premature skin ageing – developed specifically for maturer skin, based on the most advanced dermo-aesthetic research.

02 Properties

Rich care for skin whose needs have changed.

The structure of the skin changes as we age. Skin cells are less active, the fat layer thins, and collagen and elastin fibres in the deeper layers lose strength. At the same time, the sweat and sebaceous glands deliver fewer nutrients and less oxygen from the blood to the cells. The result: a loss of elasticity and hydration, diminishing firmness and skin that looks dry, thin, dull and lined.

With this shift, the demands placed on a care cream change too. The Intensive Cream Anti-Ageing was developed specifically for maturer skin and is based on the most advanced dermo-aesthetic research. It offers long-term protection against premature skin ageing and supports the skin’s natural anti-ageing functions.

The skin feel on application is striking: the liquid-crystalline substructures in the intensive cream melt into the skin – refreshing, with no tackiness.

03 The active ingredients

The Intensive Cream Anti-Ageing contains the following active ingredients.

Tetrapeptide-21

Tetrapeptide-21 is a peptide active that leads to increased collagen synthesis in the skin. Because of its comparatively small size it penetrates into deeper layers of the skin. The increased collagen content reduces wrinkles and makes the skin appear markedly firmer and more vital (Farwick et al., 2011, Experimental Dermatology, 20, 600–613).

Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7

Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 inhibits the formation of interleukin 6 (IL-6), which is involved in inflammatory processes in the skin. A lower IL-6 concentration slows inflammation-driven breakdown of the cell matrix, thereby slowing skin ageing.

Palmitoyl Oligopeptide

Palmitoyl Oligopeptidee contains a fragment of type I collagen in its structure. Its effect is based on increased collagen synthesis, which is likely to rest on a feedback mechanism.

Vitamin A

Vitamin A is important for the growth, function and structure of the skin. It supports the formation of corneocytes and the production of collagen; a reinforced collagen scaffold keeps the skin firm and supple. The regeneration of skin cells is improved, which prevents wrinkles over the long term.

Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like compound produced by the body that stimulates energy production in skin cells and so supports skin regeneration. The body’s own Q10 production declines markedly from the age of 20. Supplying it via the skin can counteract this and reduce skin ageing over the long term.

Panthenol

As provitamin B5, D-panthenol belongs to the vitamin B complex. It increases the skin’s capacity to retain moisture and promotes the formation of new cells. It is therefore also used pharmaceutically as an active in many healing ointments.

Bisabolol

Bisabolol is the principal anti-inflammatory active in chamomile oil. It also has a wound-healing effect.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a component of all human cell membranes, but is produced only by photosynthetically active organisms such as plants and cyanobacteria. As a lipid-soluble antioxidant it protects polyunsaturated fatty acids in membrane lipids, lipoproteins and depot fat from destruction by oxidation. Tocopheryl acetate is a form of vitamin E with a pronounced radical-scavenging effect.

Shea butter

Shea butter contains a high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids and phytosterols. These are incorporated into the lipid layers of the skin in greater quantity and thereby strengthen its barrier. Shea butter improves the skin’s lipid mantle and protective layer.

Jojoba oil

Jojoba is a liquid wax and very similar to human sebum; unlike fatty oils it cannot be broken down by the skin’s own lipases. It distributes itself within the stratum corneum, remains there comparatively longer and increases its elasticity. The skin’s lipid mantle is improved without acting occlusively.
